Enjoying your time getting ready
I have been working on the idea to put together a guideline to assist with the planning of your special day for quite a while, but I thought that instead of writing a very loooong article, I would break it up into small bite sized pieces that will help you plan your day. I really do hope you find these tips helpful as it is important to remind yourself that your wedding day is meant to be enjoyed thoroughly!
I know it is easy to get swept up in the rush of it all, but I encourage you to take a step back from the craziness and just experience that very moment. You are marrying your best friend and soulmate. That, my friends, is a pretty big deal!
Good Morning Beautiful!
I know this goes without saying, but start your day bright and early. Have breakfast, enjoy your cup of coffee, talk with your friends or if you’re alone, listen to some music and take a relaxing bath. Starting your day in an easy breezy manner will really help you maintain that state of calm for the rest of the day.
Pick a bridal room with lots of light, the better the natural light in the room, the better the photos. Beautiful soft window light creates stunningly romantic imagery.
Try and keep your space as uncluttered as possible and enlist the help of your bridesmaids to have the little details you want photographed ready and waiting. That way your photographer will spend less time photographing your shoes and more time photographing you having champagne with your bridesmaids or sharing an intimate joke with your parents
Less is more
I know with the excitement of the day comes quick visits from the aunt, cousin or principle you had in grade 5, but the less people walking through your getting ready space the more you will enjoy your time getting ready with your bridal party. With Smaller rooms and large bridal parties, I highly recommend the ladies get ready by the time your photographer arrives, that way bags, clothes and flip flops have been packed neatly away and you are left with a beautiful uncluttered scene made pretty by your gorgeous girls in their equally beautiful bridesmaid dresses
